A while ago I was commissioned to paint a couple of statues for a client. I really loved it, using bright colours to paint an old statue, translating one art form into another. So I decided to use that idea on some iconic statues.
The Venus is such a beautiful statue and trying to get the right composition and colour took me a while to decide but I love the black empty space on one side as it really makes us look at her and also what she might be seeing.
