The Eagle

This was my first attempt at painting on a black background. It posed a completely different challenge as it was also on card. The paints react completely differently drying in a more solid state. So, I had to learn a different way to paint.

It took a lot of layering with the paint to create the depth in the feathers from the dark undercoat to the light outer feathers.
