Every now and then I love to take old classical sculptures and recreate them in a 2D form using paint. I try to capture a similar essence to that of the solid figure.

Here, I was trying to use contrasts of light to show the form of the Renaissance sculpture in marble. It took a lot more time than I thought to mould my own version of Michelangelo’s David. But I think (hope) it was worth the effort.
