Leopard II

I love stripping back paintings, especially animals, down to their most recognisable features. Of course, on a leopard, that’s its spots and eyes. I wanted to reduce everything down to basic shapes, but also semi-abstract shapes. It was an exercise in what was best to leave out.

The colour choices were actually inspired by a hoody of mine that I’ve wanted to use for a while, but I was never sure what to paint until inspiration suddenly struck: a leopard!
