The Rooster – Again this was another animal I have wanted to paint for a while but could never think of the right way to do it. What angle would work best? Can I get the right colours? The correct background? In the end I pick the things I thought really defined the rooster’s look, the head, tail and the bright colours. They are primary colours so I thought the white background would bring out the colours best. Some of the passages are the best bits of done, the tail especially. The tail took me ages but it made me paint in a different way and I was very happy come the end.
