The rose

The Rose – After painting, The Dahlia, on a gold background I really wanted to paint something else on gold again. Especially a flower. A rose fit perfectly well into my plan because of its round shape and long smooth leaves. Like, The Dahlia, it took a long time to get the size and perspective correct because of the number of flowers. The blue turquoise and violet purple were chosen because they really stand out on the gold.
