Three chillies

Last year I had a chilli plant that kept producing the most amazing chillies. Great shapes and in a really brilliant, flame red. I wanted to paint them to really bring out the colour and contrast against the blue background. I originally painted on a yellow background but my red paint kept cracking so I switched to the blue. A happy accident. The use of light was something I wanted to try with the dark shadows. Definitely something I’m going to trying again.
