Technicolour Lion

No plan. But it worked (I hope).

I knew I wanted the side profile of the Lion but I didn’t know what colours what to use. I just looked through what mount board I had in my studio and came across this amazing red. I hadn’t used it in years, since my Audrey Hepburn painting. Paint choice came from just a quick look at my tray of paints and I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. The yellow paint was for the lighter areas of fur and going darker and darker until I felt there was enough red card showing in between the paint. This was a challenge to restrict myself as it’s very easy to over paint and ruin it.
